Associate in Science Transfer DegreeAssociate in Science Transfer DegreeThe Associate in Science Transfer degree is designed to provide the first two years of a typical college or university bachelor's degree program in mathematics, science, technical or pre-professional studies. Completion of the degree will satisfy all of the general requirements at several area colleges and universities and many of the requirements at other schools. To earn the Associate in Science transfer degree, a student must:

  • Earn a minimum of 64 semester credits, of which not more than 16 may be vocational or technical credits used as general electives and which may not be developmental education credits.
  • Earn a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 or higher.
  • Complete the general requirements below, totaling 40 or more semester credits.


Communications Outcomes: 

  1. Students are able to communicate clearly, both written and oral using the correct medium.
  2. Students are able to support ideas with appropriate and adequate information.

Science Outcomes: 

  1. Demonstrate safe laboratory practices.
  2. Apply scientific inquiry/scientific method to answer questions about the natural world.

Mathematics Outcomes: 

  1. Apply mathematical methods to solve real world problems.
  2. Evaluate the validity of mathematical solutions. 

Social Science Outcomes:

  1. Students will demonstrate critical thinking skills in written and oral communication.
  2. Students will critique the diversity of human experience, individually and collectively.

Humanities Outcomes:

  1. Form an aesthetic and/or ethical judgement of specific examples.
  2. Use the language of the discipline appropriately.

Computers Outcomes: 

  1. Integrate the technology necessary in the workplace environment.
  2. Demonstrate knowledge in utilizing software application tools.


(10 semester Credits)


Science/ Mathematics

(Take a minimum of 20 total credits of Mathematics & Science. Must take one math and one science course.)



Social Science

(6 semester credits from two areas)
