CosmetologyThrough our classroom and practical salon instruction at Iowa Lakes, you will be prepared to enter the health and beauty industry to become a licensed cosmetologist and professional hairstylist. Gain the knowledge and competitive edge needed to excel in today's business world, while earning your Associate in Applied Science degree in Cosmetology. 

You will have the opportunity to experience our state-of-the-art, full-service, on-campus salon, Laker Salon on College Drive, while learning the fundamentals and advanced techniques of cutting, coloring and styling, salon management, and more.

We support our traditional cosmetology courses with an enhanced curriculum to include practical education in communication, human relations, math and human anatomy and physiology, to provide you with a well-rounded degree. Additionally, our knowledgeable and dedicated faculty will provide you will the tools needed to prepare you for the state licensure exam, while building the confidence and performance strategies needed for a successful career in the health and beauty industry.
